About the Club
Kangaroo Island Gun Club Inc was first formed on 13th September 2002 when a bunch of shooters got together. It folded some time after but was re-formed on 11th April 2011 to new premises and corporate body and where it has been ever since.
KI Gun Club is a shotgun club only. It is situated in natural bushland overlooking Western Cove and Kingscote. It conforms with EPA and SAPOL regulations and guidelines.
We shoot Field and Game on the last Sunday of the month. Our mid-month shoot and shoots during the fire ban season are a mixture of 5-stand/Field & Game/Down the line. The clays include minis, rabbits, battues and normal clays thrown from both manual and electric traps. A normal day’s shoot is 50 clays, with a break after 25 for a BBQ lunch. Range fees are $25 for the 50 clays.
We welcome visitors, both shooters and non-shooters. However, it would be appreciated if first time shooters could contact the secretary prior to arrival so inductions and introduction etc can be organised. Also, as the range is situated on private property and not visible from the road, a member will be pleased to meet you and escort you in. Maps are available.
